Kevin Poulsen, SecurityFocus 2005-02-09

In the first case of its kind, a California video game maker is suing an entire community of software tinkerers for reverse engineering and modifying Xbox games that they legally purchased.

"Authors use this right to force book publishers to reprint books with serious errors; sculptors use this right to prevent interference with their art (there was a case in Toronto where a sculpture of geese had Christmas ribbons put around their necks and the creator of the art went to court to get them to remove the bows and won due to moral rights)."

Yes, but these are all "public" works that can't be seen any other way. The origional content is unchanged. I'ts not like the publisher is adding in the nude patch, its end users. This would be like me drawing a moustache, or more relavent, nipples, on to Uma Therman on my Kill Bill poster. Or drawing one on my friends poster with his permission.

Rediculous i sthe perfect word to describe this.
