Ok, you say that tecmo is in the right because an author can sue a publisher for mistakes? That's stupid, that's an issue between creator and production, the customer isn't involved in that situation! The author can't sue me because I post on the internet "the ending would be better like this: ..." because I am referncing his work and not claiming it as my own. So if whoever actually make's the millions of copies of the game screws up the print in the manual, or stamps defective disks, your aguement there would hold water. But what would that have to do with custom skinning?

You need to learn what a comparison is. A statue, a SINGLE statue, with no info about who owns it compared to a mass produced game.

It is my right to mod a game for my personal use. From what I have read, these people have done nothing to claim they wrote any original code, and are not trying to sell anything. Given that, what's morally wrong about it? You have to BUY the game to mod it.

So do you think Id Software should sue me because I installed a mod that attaches a flashlight to my handgun in Doom3? See, thats an applicable comparison.
