Hackers sued for tinkering with Xbox games

In the first case of its kind, a California video game maker is suing an entire community of software tinkerers for reverse engineering and modifying Xbox games that they legally purchased.

Tecmo just blew both of their feet of in a signle blast with a shotgun. this is absurd. so who out here agrees with me that tecmo is just doing this in the hopes of making money off of these guys. now if someone at tecmo had thought this trhough they would realize that as word of this spread the entire modding community in console games (which is rather large) would lose all respect for them.

Modding doesn't cause the company to lose profits when A. the mod is offered for free and B. where any or all of the game is not actually reproduced and offered for free.

this case should be made aware to the public on a widescale bassis so that the public knows what's going on.
