Nearly a year after its launch, a federal office created as a conduit for corporate America to provide the government with sensitive information about critical vulnerabilities has been all but rejected by the technology industry that helped conceive it.

It does seem a bit naive to expect managers to let any such information out. The sort of people who become middle and upper managers would rather die than admit weakness -- perception is more important than reality, or so it seems.

I don't expect the situation to change until it's put on the basis of, "you can give us the information ... or we can come and take it." Lose some control, or lose *more* control.
