I beleive it's impossible that you have reformed yourself if you are yet to suffer the consequences of your actions. You can not reform because you fear the consequences.
If you do not suffer the consequences of your crimes, you will do it again.
By the way, your negative publicity will not help your carrier.
If you work in computer security - you are fully aware of the consequences.
