I am a teenager, and I don't consider myself stupid. I run Gentoo linux and am well aware of the dangers on the Internet, while my parents are just learning how to use their cell phones properly. I try not to presume that I know everything, as I know that I don't. However, I am frustrated every day when my teachers make ignorant remarks such as "The people who you get your internet from are ... er ... your IPS" (Advanced Computer Applications) and "Yeah, my Palm Pilot runs Windows XP" (School 'Computer Administrator'). Our (public) school district spends thousands of dollars every year getting the latest version of Microsoft Office when kids are coming to school in rags and our arts department is woefully underfunded. All of our computers have spyware, and not just the benign searchbar kind. Virii run rampant, destroying reports and project after project. The servers run Windows NT 4.

Personally, I don't think these adults are fit to administer our computers. Teens will actually curcumvent the 'security measures' to install AV programs. To me, that says something.

Of course, I realize that I don't know everything. There's probably a perfectly good explanation.
