Due to popular belief not all children are stupid. I agree that many are completely clueless when it comes to security/privacy. 95% would not know what a 'proxy' was or even a firewall. And well talking about router's or NAT would just zap their brain. However there are some very able, in tune children out there. I for one find I know more about privacy and security, as well as different aspects of the computer and some basic programming as opposed to the majority of other people. Regarding parents restricting their children. Worst possible thing to do. My parents don?t know enough about computers to restrict me, as a result I am far more aware, have learnt far more, and can secure my own computer. Any child with any decent knowledge of computers will either completely wipe or circumvent any (the majority off anyway) security measures put in place. The majority of school's have crap security so the claim 'can get past most security measures at school' doesn?t surprise me. Limiting your children will just have adverse affects. They will hate it, believe that you don?t trust them. They will do what they want to do whether you like it so maybe it would be better that you know about some of it rather than none atall? Regarding the story ' I think my mum has been on my computer' well if she has, that shows how little you know about security then doesn?t it?

It?s a shame that the truly tech-savvy children out there are restricted because of the stupidity of others.

I hoped I have proved a valuable point.
