As with any technology we tend to develop it before we have the wisdom to effectively use what we are building. Most technology today is currently being used to make life better so I will assume that this will be the case with the genome research.

We shouldn't be scared of research like this, rather, attempt to find the best avenues for it and begin to realize that in the future, computer security may well cross over to genetic security.
