Microsoft unveils details of software security process 2005-05-10

There are different platforms for different reasons. Microsoft is built for ease of use across the board for a variety of different types of people and businesses. This will not fit the picture for all businesses and/or all individuals. I would like to see Raw Sockets be an option perhaps that could be enabled but disabled by default. I don?t see why Microsoft can?t implement this, but then again, the type of users who need raw sockets are so minimal in number compared to the security gained by removing them that this seems like a logical choice. Linux is far more server based and looks like a good fit for this security company. If they need Raw Sockets now, they should probably move over.

Once again I am glad for all of these changed to the Microsoft Windows code. It is showing that Microsoft does care about security and is working hard to make systems more secure. Microsoft by nature will probably never be as secure as Linux is, but then, 90% of users will never even touch a Linux box.
