Software makers stand to lose significant market value whenever a flaw is found in their products, two university researcher said in a paper published on Friday.

If you track Microsoft stock price, you will find many a times when a vulnerability was discovered and even exploited, the stock prices remain unchanged.

This might be an indication that financial analysts (most people go by their words on stock) have understood that vulnerabilities and exploits are acceptable risk of doing business specially when it the company produces the most widely used software(s).
