Software makers stand to lose significant market value whenever a flaw is found in their products, two university researcher said in a paper published on Friday.

That is true, but the question is why it does not applies so much to others?

Anyway, I think Bugs are overrated out there. Many non-IT non-SW companies have created defects ("bugs"?) that actually cause accidents that kill people (which is VEERY BAD), and they are still out there shining like always.

Other companies pollute the environment (which can cause millions of losses in health costs, extinsion of animals, lost tourism, even lives, etc...) and they are still out there and growing.

Now what is a "bug" compared to that?

Why should a company should suffer because of a bug considering:

1) MicroSoft is not affected so much by bugs

2) Other companies make greater mistakes or damage and they get no comparable punishment

3) No one in this world one can develop perfect software that is actually usable.
