This is just yet another sign pointing in the direction that pure signature based detection is becoming futile.

Generic host based intrusion detection is the next big thing, and the best product I've seen this far on this road is the free tool "All-Seeing Eye". It has great promise within this area I think, and I can recommend it to any person or company worrying about this kind of attacks happening to themselves.
