Privacy-sensitive U.S. citizens aiming to get their government-mandated annual free credit reports have to be careful not to endanger their sensitive data instead, stated a report released on Thursday.

Thrity-five dollars multiplied by 200 million prospective confused consumers adds up to the tidy sum of seven *BILLION* dollars. Is it any wonder that credit-reporting companies themselves are defrauding consumers who are expecting a free credit report?
