Don't try to compare the risk of information today to what 15 years or so ago. Just to look at how many people know how to use a PC today and how many before.
Building a community center where thousands of people come and share is totally different from building your home where only your family and a few friends ever come in.
I could not imagine what Firefox would be like when it tries to provide what IE does and has half of IE number of users.
