Managing multiple passwords is driving end-users up the wall and leading to rising help desk costs due to frequent password reset calls.

Absolutely! I've seriously thought about hanging neon-orange Post-It notes from my monitor, one per password, as a form of existential protest. I am so utterly fed up with the insanity!

We have to change our e-mail passwords every 90 days, with a whole series of "nag" messages leading up to the event.

Some genius in IT decided to run a "cracker" against our Windows network passwords, and even though in theory mine was in compliance with the official policy, it just wasn't "good enough". As a result, I now have a hard-to-type monstrosity which occasionally leads to my being locked out of the network due to too many failed attempts, hence a call to IT to get it reset.

Needless to say, I'm extremely reluctant to visit any website which requires even "free" registration, as I don't want any MORE passwords to deal with!

Naturally, this "bleeds" over into my personal life as well. If on-line businesses want to make more money off of me as a private individual, they've got to figure out a better way to perform user authentication!
