Security pros savage Tsunami hacker verdict
John Oates, The Register 2005-10-11

Last week Daniel Cuthbert was convicted of breaking the Computer Misuse Act, fined £400, and ordered to pay £600 in costs. As an IT security consultant, it will be a long time before Cuthbert's reputation is restored and it is possible he will never work in the industry again.

Interesting case. Seemed that individual's "right" is forsaken in the name of business profit. Given the number of publicized database breaches of recent, and that the consumer are left to their own devices after the fact. Can anyone be assured that businesses are in fact doing what they can to protect YOUR information? Business makes money by taking risk and sometime this means not securing the database for examples. Has the pendulum swung way too far or should we all blindly trust corporations like sheep being led to slaughter.
