Clearly we must bow to the wiser heads to Law, Order and Bureaucracy.

Just because you *think* you see a mugging in process, doesn't mean you should interfere, Citizen. Leave it to the professionals; they're there to hold after-the-fact press conference, express remorse, proclaim revenge, and look for the body.

You don't *know* if that masked man running away with the purse really knocked down that old lady in the street. He might just like leopard patterns and be out for his morning job. You wouldn't want to be liable criminally for assaulting this man, or sued for breaking his leg. And you might get charged with sexual assault if you help the old lady to her feet. And if the cops show up when you're carrying the purse back to the old lady, that eyewitness 2 blocks away is *quite certain* that you took it with every intent of keeping it.

In short, mind your own business, Citizen. The State will take care of everything. The State serves all your needs. Heed the loyalty slogans of the stern posters above! Break the law, face the consequences! The law is absolute and always correct! That's why my wife is my property and can't vote! If a law was wrong, counterproductive or just plain stupid, The State will always make sure to change it without ANY pressure from the people!
