Come on - USB drives have been an security issue since they came out. In fact, you also have to consider any form of removable media, including CD's.
At some companies like Lockheed and other DOD-type environments, employees can't bring ANYTHING into their work environment, including cell phones. If they need a USB drive they have to go through lots of hoops and paperwork to justify it. On top of that, they're randomly checked for any contraband.
What about devices that use bluetooth, infrared (often on laptops), or firewire connections?
This is a very silly article, considering the recent plethora of stories where laptops with lots of sensitive data have been stolen. There's a lot more information on a laptop than you could ever put onto a USB drive.
