Read the links. The actual description of the attack stated "...I then proceeded to scatter the drives in the parking lot...."

Just because you have access to the parking lot doesn't mean you have physical access to the system.

Many companies have areas frequented by the public and employees both, like the credit union, but other areas restricted to employees only.
