I find it incredible that a company would be investigated if they promoted their stock through normal media without a prospectus, but that not one finger is lifted when the same stock is promoted through spam. There must be someone with the company behind the campaign and if the powers that be were to remove that stock from the market, the use of spam to promote stocks would very soon drop to nothing.

It is not perfect, but it would be a start to use the existing financial regulations to try and stop at least one part of the spam problem.
