Robert Lemos, SecurityFocus 2007-02-02

Researchers led by the head of a Florida anti-spyware firm aim to recreate what caused a Connecticut school's classroom computer to start displaying pornographic pop-ups in October 2004, an incident that recently led to four felony convictions for the substitute teacher involved.

This is a puzzelling case on several level with more questions than answers.

The security pro's shouldn't have to work to undo teachers conviction.

Why is the school board not being proseuted?

Surely it is the responsibility for them to ensure a safe physical, spiritual and emotional environment for the children, whilst in their care?

They must have set policies and procedures for a safe intranet?

More than that the principal as the chief must have an indoctrination and training system in place for all staff?

Where is the teachers union on this, why aren't they going into bat for the teacher too?

In todays world the above questions should be answered openly and transparently by the board, school district and the principal.

I hope that the inference of her innocence is true and that she is able to sue for wrongful arrest, conviction and lack of support from all concerned.

Big Dollars too as that is the o0nly wake beaurocrats seem to understand other than jail time.
