Robert Lemos, SecurityFocus 2007-02-02

Researchers led by the head of a Florida anti-spyware firm aim to recreate what caused a Connecticut school's classroom computer to start displaying pornographic pop-ups in October 2004, an incident that recently led to four felony convictions for the substitute teacher involved.

The silly prosecutor run for office and usually win based on their moral reputation of convicting those evil doers.

It's U.S. silly Amercans who buy the rhetoric thEn complain in our easy chair as we watch the news about this sort of idiocy.

I hope the forensics experts find the court guilty of several counts of negligence, aiding and abiding, conspiracy and laziness. I hope they over turn the verdict and throw both the prosecutor and the 'LE expert witness' out in the streets.

I hope this establishes an important milestone for computer related crimes to provide an argument for both sides and to eliminate the proprietariness of software which can only be used by 'LE' to establish evidence. This is railroaded justice in the U.S. and is supported by groups as narrow minded as GW.

This finally had to happen sadly someone suffers, they should coin this the "Amero verdict" once it's been over turned and should be made retroactive to all computer related cases which only allowed a one sided 'LE expert' testimony and provide punitive damages to everyone who was wrongly accused or punished in the amount of 4 times their salaries to date plus interest.

And to those who made the false accusations or wrongful claims, they should be stripped of any titles, certifications or Government retirements and be penalized twice the amount of the punitive damages suffered.

This will teach any over zealous person who wants to get ahead by stepping on someone else's back to make sure they've got all their ducks lined up before they go off on a witch hunt.

Do I sound bitter? Maybe about $200,000.00 worth.
