Security pros work to undo teacher's conviction

Researchers led by the head of a Florida anti-spyware firm aim to recreate what caused a Connecticut school's classroom computer to start displaying pornographic pop-ups in October 2004, an incident that recently led to four felony convictions for the substitute teacher involved.

Win98SE had a vulnerability which cached all login passwords in a plain text file.

Besides not being patched and not NAT'ed this pretty much left a pigeon the size of a prize turkey sitting on the Internet broadcasting a beacon to everyone in the world "COME GET ME!".

I'm sure neither one of the teaches knew the security implications, that's not their job.

This case reeks with incompetence of an overzealous coward. But then consider our current administration. As the line in the movie "Remember the Titians", 'attitude reflects leadership'.
