Peer-to-peer networks co-opted for DOS attacks

The problem with this (and the gun control arguement) rights related arguement is the inherent lack of responsibility we tie to rights. We don't tie the "right" to own a gun to the reponsibility that should be assumed by the "right holder" should that gun is used in the commission of an offence. If you can't secure it, your right to own it should cease to exist. If you can't secure it and someone else uses it to do harm, then you should be held as accountable as someone who did use it for harm, as, without you, it wouldn't be there in the first place. Boy, wouldn't that paradigm make some people think before they developed a "feature".
