It's high time that the United States drew a line around its networks and pledged to defend its interests in cyberspace.

"Monroe Doctrine"? "Cyber turf"? These are the wrong analogies entirely! The persistent use of metaphors like this is only get awful, harmful policy!

Unless the goal is to have the United States become a Hermit Kingdom even more isolated than North Korea.

This is like saying that the United States needs to use Alchemy - with the four elements of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water in order to defend whatever scientific advantage it has.
