Wi-Fi Alliance tries again on wireless security

The Wi-Fi Alliance aims to make it easier to build robust security into wireless LANS with the announcement yesterday of a successor to the flawed WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) protocol.

The manufactures must be compliant by aug, but the standard will not be finalized till the back end of next year? Does Wi - Fi want to fail? This should only happen in a Dilbert comic. Some lead time is necessary to develope and test a product. What happens when a company builds to a standard that changes before they finish their design?
