Eighteen months after Argus Systems challenged the hacker world to crack its PitBull security product in a much-ballyhooed global contest, the winners say they're still waiting for their prize money.

Argus has a section on their site titled "Argus in the news" which is a section they use to link to online stories about their company and/or products. In the event you find a story about Argus you can email them at press (at) argus-systems (dot) com [email concealed]

I sent them an email telling them about this particular story.....so far they have not posted it on their site. Not that I was expecting them to but none the less, you can let them know that people do read negative stories about Argus which for obvious reasons they would not post on their site.

I wonder if there might be more to this. Let's look at the consiracy theory. Maybe Argus figures if they don't pay they will get a bad wrap with the white hat community so in the future none of them would waste their time in anymore hacker challenges they might offer in the future. If nobody enters the challenge then Argus could say that the product did not get hax0red.

If you think about it, it would make sense. So far only LSD was able to crack a Pitbulls(hit) protected server. In the future when Argus offers up another hacker challenge do you think LSD is going to bother with it after not getting their prize money from the last time? I think not...nobody wants to get burned twice.

Obviously Argus is not an ethical company, I would suggest that nobody do business with them.
