Really I think Gilmore has identified the issue. Censorship is not the ISP's hand to play. Otherwise internet pornography may not have been as successful as it was. (in fact I happen to know of a few ISP's in LA that grew out of funding supplied by porn) Those persons morally opposed to spam/porn/{moral topic of the day} should do their own filtering. Personally, I filter anything that does not come from a known address or list. Occasionally I scan the trash to make sure that a log lost lover hasn't sent me anything and I have yet to miss an email.

Oddly enough I think that this argument is very similar to censorship on tv and movies. It is not the fault of the production studio if the kid sees the flick it is the fault of the parent who did not exercise the proper controls.
