DEA Data Thief Sentenced to 27 Months

A 14-year veteran of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) who fled to Mexico to avoid federal computer crime charges was sentenced in a federal court in Los Angeles on Monday to 27 months in prison for selling information on private citizens he plundered from sensitive law enforcement databases.

What a joke!! The man is a federal agent and sells the information. He should be shot!!! There should be NO TOLERANCE for such misuse of information. He sold information about private individuals which was created using tax dollars. Not only did he break the law by selling the information, but he wasted tax dollars while doing it. For all we know (as the public) is that he probably dumped the data to media while on our tax dollars as well as sold the information to the companies while on our dollar as well.

There is only one way to stop government employees from selling privileged information..... make the penalty so great that they won't even think about doing it... shoot them!!!
