On the plus side, they are usually pretty good about catching you leaving with hardware before the end of the show. But then again ask yourself what is at risk. A bit of hardware. No trade secrets, after all we are trying to sell this stuff. When I look at the setup for our trade show booth, the hardware is only about $10,000. There is far more invested in preparing the materials and following-up the leads generated by the show.
I would like to see better security at the shows, but I don't let it bother me for the small value involved.
