That must be it....I'm over educated. I thought industry certifications might be a good thing to broaden my knowledge but heck....it back fired on me. Rats!!! I guess between my "over education" (my family always told me this 'book learnin' was useless) and my ethics hang ups I'm missing the big picture you seem to have such a grasp on.

I'm sorry. I couldn't resist. Your thread has grown to such obsurdity about my "close mindedness" I had to respond with equal obsurdity. You have some good points throughout your responses, I concede....(despite my close mindedness)...but you're labeling my comments as close minded just because they differ from yours.

If you've read any of the rest of the thread....I've been very quick to tell people "good point"...which COULD be mistaken for open-mindedness. But all this 'book learnin' could have clouded my judgement. The first step to recovery is acceptance. I feel better already. Thanks!

Again, for the record, Kevin is right in his article. There's just something about his "now being the infosec savior" that just doesn't sit right with me. There are PLENTY of brilliant people out there (Northcutt, Schneier(sp?), Ranum, etc.) that don't have the baggage......and I would argue with anybody that they don't know what they're talking about becuase they've obeyed the law. But again, now that I understand how this works, these guys might be too educated too!!! Rats!!
