While I agree that nobody should have the right to read my e-mail, I'm not overly concerned that anyone is going to be able to do it. Part of my job is network security monitoring. The amount of traffic that Ashcroft and Co would have to monitor would be off the scales!

Heck, the economic recession would be over just based on the HD's and tapes they would have to buy to archive it all until it could be processed and reviewed by a human, only to be deleted because I was telling a friend that it would be the bomb if we went down to the local pub to kill a couple of rounds of beer and terrorized the President of the local ladies drinking club.

Not to mention all the 'Member Enlargement' and 'Cheap Viagra' Spam messages they'd have to sort through. (Never thought I'd be glad to have spammers around!!)

Remember that the document was a draft. The DOJ has been trying to get unfettered access to everything and everyone for years. Most of the people in Congress want to get reelected, and they know that supporting trash like this document, once it goes public as all bills do, is not going to get them elected again.

I have a theory, if you don't vote, DON'T BITCH.
