Short history indeed! While I love the facts about the origins of such terms as bug and de-bugging, there are some contemporary facts conspicuously absent.

For example, Symantec is hardly the onlycompany in the anti-virus industry. Their solid products and reputation are built on their consumer products, not their enterprise products yet you cite the introduction of NAV in the midst of a time line documenting the impact of malicious code on businesses and the government.

McAfee, Trend and many others were also in the midst of the malicous code battle, some well before the introduction of Norton. McAfee began as shareware offered by an engineer at Lockheed well before the widespread use of commerical anti-virus products.

A short history that runs short on the facts is little more than an advertisement.
