The thing that everyone should remember here is that breaching an ATM's security is exceptionally easy if you have even the foggiest idea about how it all works. As someone who's worked as the IT manager for a bank I was intimately involved with setting up our network and bringing our ATM's online at the small bank I worked at. I can tell you that we followed 'industry standards' in protecting our systems and I can name at LEAST 7 ways to get any data I want out of them. Don't be foolish enough to think your data is safe. It isn't. But thankfully, there aren't many people dumb enough to try to steal stuff from the ATM who also understand how it works.
