This is starting to sound more and more like the gun debate in the US. An ammendment to the U.S. Constitution might give people the right to do something, but politicians and lawyers will do their damned-est to find a way around the right, including using all kinds of lies to sell the ignorant public, and insidiously creeping up on their end goal by slowly chipping away at freedoms in little easier-to-swallow bits. There are very emotional folks on either side of the issue, undecided/uncaring folks in the middle (with no clue/thought towards what this may mean eventually to their future freedoms), and there are the majority of folks in between the middle and extremes. Further, some (from either side) will misinterpret laws and/or the ramifications of the laws and make poor decisions.
