Windows Update keeps tabs on all system software

Evidence obtained by German hardware site tecChannel suggests a list of software installed on an XP machine is sent to Microsoft when users run Windows Update.

You must take into consideration that a lot of companies out their have the same view of Microsoft as the last two guys who posted comments about this article. I am not saying that Windows Update is not doing what is alleged. I am just saying that it is a real possibility that this is not the case. Why might someone at tecChannel make up a story like this? Why spell Microsoft with a $ sign? In light of a considerable amount of anomosity towards Microsoft, some of which I am sure is whole heartedly valid, I cannot take an article like this at full face value. Regardless of your personal view on Microsoft, of which I am still forming mine, there needs to be an intellegent evaluation of the facts before a stand is made.

p.s. I do, though, appreciate those individuals, some of whom may have made the previous posts, who protect us from corporate abuse. I am just heralding those who work on fact and not bias and presupposition.
