They will do it, and, IMHO, in right way. They did good job with Win2K/XP, so security is just another step.

Holes in current products? Well, name the product which is perfect - I would like to know about this. So far I don't know - software is not perfect by definition (because it is "soft"). Only solution is to freeze features and hunt for bugs - but it won't work - users won't use "old" software for long time.

And (in reply to Anonymous above) - their products are really improving. Really. No one did better job (in some areas, at least) - majority of companies use MS products because those are good.

As for me, I don't see any competition to MS Office, for instance, and this is what most of users need. And I like it too, however WinXP's UI and some apps are far better that something else I ever seen - so I use it, but for everything else I use Linux.

Don't blame MS... just because they did something or because you are not as rich as Bill Gates is. If you can do better - do. If you can't - don't say anything. "Who can - do, who can't..." - so make your decision.

PS: No advocacy threads, please. I use OS and apps which I need to achieve specifics goals. There is no "good" or "bad" products - there is something what you can (able) or cannot (unable) to use due to various reason. Something incomparable - like to - "What is better - apples or orange?" - better for what/whom?
