It is also possible to use variations or hybrids of both HPM and UMB to build field dynamic HERF devices to affect specific situational/theatre/battle-sphere conditions. Research in this area can be considered in production and research state. It is a narrow and specialized field that does have some issues with development scoping and device/target definitions. Do consider any of these devices as accurate or smart is stupid.

What is known is not known since causality due to parasitic effects is not well understood. A smart ray gun is a long way off as far as I can tell.
