HOWEVER, if this happened, I wouldn't prosecute this person. I'd tell them to get the hell off my property and never come back. If someone entered my home and broke something, or even just entered and left, then I would prosecute. So I guess I would give some amenesty to hackers who do not cause harm, even though I would not say its OK or right for them to do so.
As for a life term in prison for hacking, that is crazy. Many murderers don't even get life in prison, most thiefs don't get life in prison either.
