Are they seriously trying to put Adrian Lamo in prison? Has anyone looked at his resume lately? He has helped so many companies fix their networks and secure their data that their should be no doubt to where his loyalties are. Someone earlier pointed out that he wouldn't like it if a robber broke into a house and left him a note. Well, that is the incorrect analogy. Think of it this way. He is looking for open proxy servers on company networks. This can be thought of as someone knocking on your front door and having it swing wide open. He's really not breaking in. One thing that him, and anyone like him, should do though is to be sure that they notify the network admin before they go any further. True, it's a good thing to gather information before you try to make a presentation, but, in the case of sensitive networks, it is best practice to cover you butt before you go any further. Anyone else have any ideas on this subject?
