It's about time there's some serious discussion into 'ethical hacking', thank you Adrian! When it's all analyzed in retrospect, the question is how much damage was done, and who left the servers unsecured? A simple crime of trespass does not necessarily deem a sentence murders receive, or that their life must be destroyed. Many of these people are 'providing a friendly service' and it's much better than did it than someone with ill intent. I would much rather someone notice and tell me my systems are insecure, and possibly let me know how to fix it... than having them extensively damaged by an evildoer.
