Sounds like a great excuse to catch up with the rest of the world in deploying IPv6. Sure, there will be headaches, particularly in security, and vendors will have to get moving on refining their IPv6 technology, but we are already behind Europe and Asia in IPv6 rollout.
Or
Move to a state that isn't making laws without considering the consequences. But really, forget about Orwellism and all that Big Brother garbage. Who really thinks that Michigan or any other state, or any collection of states, is going to shut down the major firewall vendors?! These companies are HUGE employers and spenders, have legal products that are massively deployed in state and Federal governments, and, after all, the DoD and law enforcement communities need and deploy this type of research. Do you really think that when push comes to shove DoD and LE contractors and vendors that develop this stuff in Michigan are going to have to stop because the state law says so?
Puh-lease. State schmate. The first state ruling banning the use of a firewall or NAT will be overturned in a Federal court.
