'Deceptive Duo' Hacker Under House Arrest

Former pro-Napster hacker Robert "Pimpshiz" Lyttle is revealed as one-half of the mysterious Deceptive Duo, and sentenced to house arrest for violating his no-more-hacking probation rules.

If the intent of the Deceptive Duo was to secure "America's" infrastructure, then why didn't they just offer their services to corporations, non-profits and government agencies for free?

I think a focused vulnerability assessment would have been more effective than breaking into a web server. Seriously, how hard is it to run scripts?

So, why doesn't the underground and security industry step up to the plate, offer your services for free? Sort of like a quota, do so many assessments for free per month.

Just a thought...

One more thing, does Lamo work for SF? He sure does get a lot of press with SF ;).
