'Deceptive Duo' Hacker Under House Arrest

Former pro-Napster hacker Robert "Pimpshiz" Lyttle is revealed as one-half of the mysterious Deceptive Duo, and sentenced to house arrest for violating his no-more-hacking probation rules.

Again, not condoning hacking or cracking of any sort (ethical or not), HOWEVER let's say the penal system sentenced hackers to 10-20 years. So the amount of hacking in the US drops significantly and now there really is no reason to keep on top of securityproblems is there. Why spend time and resources in patching open systems when those same resources could be used to develop new software and increase revenue for software giants? Remember, new software is arevenue generator, patching systems is not. So 10 years down the line, when hacking no longer exists in the US because of strict penalties, security is no longer a concern and then we have our enemies throughout the world that have free reign at our non-secure systems.
