Hacker-engineer Andrew "Bunnie" Huang says he's already pre-sold between 400 and 500 copies of his self-published tell-all "Hacking the Xbox: an Introduction to Reverse Engineering," weeks before its scheduled May 27th publication date, despite -- or perhaps because of -- looming suspicions by some that the book skirts the edges of legality.

It's in the commericial interest to maximize profit and to keep you in line. Government is completely and utterly in the hands of powerful private interests through political donations and believe me, they're getting what they paid for: all of us and dominion over minor annoyances such as First Amendment rights.
What you have now is the right to breath the air corporations say you deserve, get the pension stolen from you by your company's right to "invest" however they chose to, pay for the home of your multi-millionaire sports teams, fight overseas for somebody else's oil ("Have you seen a WMD today?") and learn to rollover and take it.
I'm glad to see Bunnie move forward. Courage is when you are running towards what everybody else is running away from. (Or, it could be interpreted as stupidity, but not always). We have people in jail for expressions of thought. The line used to be drawn at taking the action.
It's ironic to me that you can do time for talking about a commercial process, but you can continue to write and publish as many books as you wish about how to assemble munitions, plan ambushes, engage in terroristic actions---all protected speech. But you better keep your mouth shut about Xbox, because while we can lose a few thousands or so to people who use the free flow of ideas to kill us, we can't afford to lose revenue for Microsoft and others.
This is not to say that these companies don't have a gripe, but what they have in this "solution" is a grip---around the throat of America.
