'Banned' Xbox Hacking Book Selling Fast

Hacker-engineer Andrew "Bunnie" Huang says he's already pre-sold between 400 and 500 copies of his self-published tell-all "Hacking the Xbox: an Introduction to Reverse Engineering," weeks before its scheduled May 27th publication date, despite -- or perhaps because of -- looming suspicions by some that the book skirts the edges of legality.

I don't have an Xbox and I'm not sure I'm going to get one, but I've ordered the book too. I would have paid double. It takes tungsten balls to tango with Microsoft, and "Bunny" deserves all the support he can get for going through with this.

I'm not a videogamer myself (I've had a PS2 for almost 2 years and I have exactly two games for it, both unfinished). If I do buy an Xbox, it will be to apply the teachings of the book, and maybe to construct a cheap Linux webserver... oh the irony of looking that little Open Source box subsidised by Uncle Bill!

And lets face it, if Bunny can crack the Xbox, lets hope he's getting ready to tackle upcomming Palladium head-on!
