Feds: 'Hacker Journal' Implicates Heckenkamp

Meticulous notes recovered from his computer allegedly link the accused eBay hacker to intrusions at over one hundred universities and companies. Heckenkamp's family says he's the victim of a frame-up.

There is a BIG difference between being "owned" (and used as a hacker's bounce), and having detailed records of over 100 networks on your system. Given the very detailed nature of the records, and the manner in which their destruction was attempted, AND the fact that the records were copied to a CD (which has effectively disappeared), I'd say this moronic kid is barking up the wrong tree. He is obviously looking for a way out, and given the lack of general intelligence he has displayed to date, I don't see him finding one that works. After reading his father's statements, I have no doubts as to the origin of this kid's issues with accountability, honesty and ethics.

Facts are facts, bytes are bytes and there is plenty of both available to convict him. Everything else is just a dog and pony show highlighting the national embarrassment of a child gone VERY wrong.
