Out of all the ridiculous things written...

Start treating the security scene with a little more respect?

Pray tell, what is the security scene? Efnet? Securityfocus?

You speak of the scene, and not the industry. Are you jealous of GOBBLES?

The scene and industry are different things.

To me, GOBBLES is a scene hero.

Did you mean industry when you said scene?

If so, why should he/she/they treat the industry with more respect? The same industry that has ISS X-Forces who "unethically" disclose a hole, because they claim they don't trust ASF? Is ISS who you're trying to represent here? The same company who said the bug isn't exploitable?

Yeah, you're so right -- GOBBLES is a bunch of morons, they completely shamed the entire infosec world and once again showed that the "scene" is greater than the industry, and that the "industry" is years behind hackers.

Did that get through your thick skull yet? GOBBLES Is better (read -- more technically skilled) than those morons who you think should be shown some respect. Those same morons (ISS) showed no respect to Mark Cox and the Apache Software Foundation.

GOBBLES should be more respectful to the OpenBSD team?

What is the OpenBSD team? A bunch of cocky, egotistical maniacs who brag about how secure their operating system is. Have you ever read any of Theo's mailing list submissions where he openly ridicules the other BSD developers? He shows a lot of disrespect to "good people" too, why aren't you flaming him here?

Are you scared, because hackers hack? What're you really crying about? Are you not skilled enough to keep your sensitve data secure, and wish that people like GOBBLES would do this for you?

C'mon, admit it... GOBBLES did something great here, and proved that a big security company was WRONG and that the big security company IS NOT PERFECT. They also showed that OpenBSD is NOT PERFECT and as SECURE as they would like you to think it is (poor memcpy() implementation).

But you're probably one of those idiots who is going to continue to pay enormous amounts of money to security companies like ISS to protect you against... well, I'm not really sure what they can really protect you against, but they'll take your money from you and install some sniffers on your network that let you watch the 0day exploits fly by and comprimise your network....

I used to work in the security industry, then I realized I needed some self respect.
