Anti-Terror Law Used Against Hackers, Thieves
Kevin Poulsen, SecurityFocus 2003-05-21

The enhanced search and surveillance powers Congress gave the Justice Department in the USA-PATRIOT Act haven't just been used in the war on terror: it turns out they're helpful in everything from spying on credit cards fraudsters to tracking down computer hackers.

Im sure you all have seen movies were they are in a curupt future environment and everyone lives in fear of a dictatorship government and you calmly sit back and think to yourself "Im so glad this will never happen to me". Well it looks like this is step one in such a totalatarion environment. In a couple years expect a new act with some more changes and so on and so forth. Now I am not a nutcase who thinks the entire world will turn out like "Escape from New York" or somthing like that but I do beleive that if theese changes keep coming at the rate they are coming at then our way of life as a whole will change somtime in the near or distant future. Just some food for thought.
