Microsoft Corp. withdrew a security improvement for its flagship Windows XP software after it crippled Internet connections for some of the 600,000 users who installed it.

I am inclined to agree with the claim that they were caught in one of their money-making schemes. As for their claim that a small number of users were affected, that's untrue. I work for one of the top three largest cable service providers in the US and we had a LARGE number of people affected. Why else would M$ scramble to pull a patch that only affected a few people? Something is rotten in Redmond...
